Melanie Roberts, DVM
Dr. Melanie (Receveur) Roberts grew up in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. She completed her pre-veterinary curriculum and veterinary doctorate curriculum at Purdue University and the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Her veterinary school experience includes externships at Jefferson Emergency Animal Hospital and at the Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic in Indianapolis with Dr. Angela Lennox. After graduation, she moved to Auburn, Alabama to be with her husband, Dr. Jim Roberts, and practiced in a hospital there for two years.
In April of 2000, Dr. Melanie Roberts relocated to Jeffersonville and joined the Allison Lane Animal Hospital team. She has extensive experience with medicine and surgery for dogs and cats and especially enjoys internal medicine as well as geriatric care. She believes in trying to make the veterinary experience as low stress as possible for all animals. Dr. Roberts also has a special interest in “exotic” pets of all kinds and has done extensive work with birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets, and wildlife. She has worked with tigers, black leopards, otters, deer, foxes, skunks, ducks, chickens, peacocks, and degus.
Dr. Melanie Roberts enjoys traveling, reading, painting, movies, and community service with the 501st/Rebel Legion.
Jim Roberts, DVM, CVCP
Dr. Jim Roberts is originally from Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Roberts attended the University of Louisville, at the J.B. Speed School of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) and in the biology/pre-veterinary program, for his undergraduate work. He then went on to Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine for his veterinary doctorate degree and graduated in 2000. He received the Auburn CVM Dermatology Award during his senior year. Dr. Roberts performed his preceptorship with Drs. Graehler and Daley (Louisville’s Surgery and Medicine specialists, of Metropolitan Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services).
Dr. Roberts has practiced in the Jeffersonville community since 2001. His areas of special interest include Dermatology, Surgery (soft tissue), Echocardiography, preventative and wellness medicine, and VOM Technology (a veterinary healing technology that incorporates both veterinary and chiropractic procedures. Dr Jim Roberts spends his free time traveling, watching movies, collecting WWII militaria, and trooping/community service with the 501st/Rebel Legion.
Rebekah Brinks, DVM
Dr. Rebekah Brinks is from Prospect, Kentucky, and completed her degree in biology from Villanova University. She went to Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine for her doctorate in veterinary medicine. During her time at Auburn, Dr. Brinks was a member of the after hours surgical team.
Dr. Brinks joined Allison Lane Animal Hospital in 2019. She has a passion for most facets of veterinary medicine, with a special interest in animal nutrition.
Dr. Brinks’ other interests include watching sports (Go UK), reading books, and enjoying life with her husband, Kent , and their 2 cats, Daphne and Weasley.
Kellie McMurry, DVM
Dr. Kellie McMurry is a native of Danville, Kentucky, and joined the Allison Lane Animal Hospital team in 2018. She obtained a bachelor of science in biology from Georgetown College before pursuing her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. McMurry’s areas of special interest in veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and getting to know each of her wonderful clients.
In her free time, Dr. McMurry enjoys cycling, reading, riding her quarter horse, Charlie, and spending time with her husband and their Labrador, Yogi.
Anna Lyons, Veterinary Technician
Anna Lyons is our registered veterinary technician. She graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in 2013 and an associate’s degree in Veterinary technology in 2015.
She had been working with us during summer breaks during school, and joined our team full time in February 2016.
Anna loves spending time with her husband, reading, crafting and anything Disney. She is also a 4-H leader for the Tunnel Mill Tigers 4-H club here in Clark county.
Micheala Raymer, Professional Groomer
Michaela Raymer has been a groomer at Allison Lane since January 2017. She volunteered as a bather/trimming assistant here for 7 years prior and has even been employed as a veterinary assistant. She loves working with the animals everyday. She likes to spend her free time with her daughter, Olivia, her fiance Creighton and her dogs and cats.
