Understanding Wellness Care

Our wellness care practices can extend your pet’s life, and we do this by encouraging annual exams. Annual physicals are crucial! Many of our younger patients receive yearly exams. However, we advise getting your pet checked out every six months if they are becoming older or have any health issues.

PARASITE PREVENTION
The prevention of parasites and the diseases they transmit is possible with the proper treatment and care. In addition to irritating your pet, fleas and ticks can carry diseases and hurt their health. Heartworm is a harmful parasite that infects the heart muscle and can be fatal in dogs and cats.

Costing hundreds to thousands of dollars, removing fleas from a pet and home can be practically impossible due to the extended lifespan of flea eggs. We’ll work with you to create the ideal flea and tick prevention strategy for your pets.

VACCINATIONS
While dogs and cats need to be vaccinated against diseases that can afflict their species, such as rabies and distemper, they also require separate immunizations. Our veterinarian will collaborate with you to establish a thorough, individualized immunization program to safeguard your pet.

Puppy & Kitten Wellness Care

Our Puppy & Kitten Care Wellness Exams are tailored to give your newest family members the best start in life. Our experienced veterinarian conducts thorough physical assessments during these comprehensive exams to ensure your puppy and kitten are in optimal health.

We check for common issues like parasites, infections, and congenital conditions. Vaccinations are administered to provide essential protection against prevalent diseases tailored to your pet’s specific needs. Nutrition counseling is a crucial part of our service as we guide you in choosing the right diet to support their growth and development. Dental care is not overlooked, as we emphasize the importance of early oral hygiene. Beyond medical concerns, we provide valuable advice on behavioral training and socialization to foster a positive relationship between you and your new companion. At Allison Lane Animal Hospital, we are committed to providing personalized care that sets the foundation for a lifetime of happiness and health for your puppy and kitten.
